There‘s a saying in fleet operations: the hardest part of the job is what you don’t see. For RFID systems, what you don‘t see is the vibration, the road dust, the temperature swings, and the moisture that seeps into electronics mounted on moving vehicles.
When we designed the Symo IR38A integrated UHF RFID reader, we started by looking at these hidden forces — not the ideal lab conditions, but the real-world conditions that kill ordinary readers.
The IR38A is a purpose-built integrated reader. It combines an 8dBi circularly polarized antenna and advanced RFID chipset (Impinj E510 or Fudan FM1616) inside a single compact ASA housing — engineered not just to perform, but to survive.
For waste collection trucks, its triple-protection waterproofing (air vent valve + internal drainage ditches + high-grade sealing rings) ensures reliable operation even after repeated pressure washing. Its reinforced mounting brackets and shock-tolerant design withstand the daily vibration cycles that would fatigue standard commercial readers.
For parking access, tolling lanes, bus depots and loading docks, the IR38A delivers up to 800 tags per second read speed and a 0-12 meter read range, with optional Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and PoE+ connectivity to simplify installation across different site layouts.
A good RFID application requires a good device. A good device requires more than just strong RF performance. It requires structural integrity, environmental resilience, and the flexibility to adapt to different site conditions through interfaces like RS232, RS485, Wiegand, GPIO relay outputs, and Ethernet.
